Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Board is seeking a creative, energetic leader who is capable of driving strategic goals while managing the day-to-day activities of the Affiliate and staff. The ideal candidate is a highly-motivated professional with a solid foundation in fiscal management, program services, event management and fundraising. The Executive Director is instrumental in the strategic planning of the Affiliate. This position works closely with, and is under the direct supervision of, the Board of Directors.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Assist with strategic planning and manage work to meet identified goals. Oversee the grantmaking process. Initiate collaboration among community organizations, grant recipients, breast cancer organizations and other Affiliates. Assist with the development and management of the annual budget. Function as the primary spokesperson of the Affiliate. Develop marketing plans, communications and media relations. Oversee and coordinate all functions of the Affiliate’s Race for the Cure.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Miminum of a Bachelor’s Degree (Master's preferred)and a minimum of five years professional experience. Experience in staff and volunteer management, event management, fundraising and communications is essential. Travel, evening and weekend work are required. Effective communication verbally and in writing. Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing projects and a commitment to high professional ethical standards. Evidence of propelling growth in other organizations is critical.
