Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as Executive Director in Albuquerque, NM. Full-time exempt position responsible for coordinating all fund raising activities of the local office, as well as building a strong community-based area-board of active volunteers. Eighty percent of the job is fundraising/board development, 10% is community relations, and 10% is office/staff administration.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Diversify the income base from direct mail into special events, planned giving, major gifts and other solicitations. Responsible for implementing the nationwide strategic cause campaign in New Mexico. Responsible for building the necessary relationship that will foster a strong core of volunteers to serve on the association’s local Leadership Board. We currently have one major stair climb event, a gala event and a vehicle donation program.

Other Information/Requirements: 

The American Lung Association in New Mexico, a division of the American Lung Association of the Southwest, has served the state since 1918 and currently operates with a staff of three and a budget of $550,000. The association’s mission is to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.
