Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall financial and operations responsibility for WNCR’s staff, volunteers, programs and execution of its mission. S/he will initially develop deep knowledge of horse adoption markets and horse rescue operations.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

- Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence & consistent quality of all operations; recommend timelines & resources needed to achieve goals set by the Board
- Actively engage & energize volunteers, board members, operating teams, funders & partnering organizations
- Ensure effective systems to track progress & measure success
- Ensure revenue generating & fundraising activities support existing program operations
- Improve all aspects of communications to create a stronger brand

Other Information/Requirements: 

Commitment to the mission
Advanced degree & min 7 years’ senior mgmt in a nonprofit
Track record of effectively leading a performance- & outcomes-based organization
Proven ability to coach staff/manage/develop high-performance teams, set & achieve strategic objectives, & manage a budget
Success working with a Board
Strong marketing/PR/fundraising experience w/examples of successes
Strong written/verbal communication
Work effectively in collaboration w/diverse groups
Integrity/professionalism/ethics
