ESL/Literacy Instructor

Full-Time
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

- Teach ESL & Literacy topics in an in-person environment
- Become familiar with resources available for use in the class
- Advise students to enable self-directed learning and self-advocacy
- Ensure that all classroom practices meet College and Career Readiness Standards
- Facilitate student-specific learning plans that align with student goals, approved curriculum, and beneficial programs available
- Administer TABE 11/12 and TABE Clas-E
- Meet HED/state grantor targets

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

- Be aware of and follow all grant guidelines as well as ensure delivery of any and all grant specific outcomes
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities
- Foster good rapport with students, staff, and community partners
- Maintain close communication with other staff members
- Assist Program Director with instructional, curricular, and administrative tasks or activities

This is the first ABQ-ALC ESL cohort. We are interested in a candidate who can help us design our onboarding process to best fit the needs of our incoming ESL students.
