Main Areas of Responsibility:
The school programs instructor will teach newly arrived refugee students in LFS’s out-of-school-time academic programs at Highland HS. The teacher will help students develop skills & improve their performance in the following areas: English proficiency, reading, listening, math, academic school system, appropriate school behavior, study skills & critical thinking.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
Implementing lesson plans & leading other educational activities, such as hosting guest speakers or supervising field trips; administering ESL testing to determine English instruction placement; adapting curriculum materials to individualize instruction for students of various ability levels; work collaboratively with Parent Engagement Specialist & Refugee Mental Health subcontractor & all other academic & social adjustment providers
