Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Wanted: highly motivated Early Childhood Educator. Responsible for toddler instruction to 18mo. – 3 year olds with hearing loss using hearing aids or cochlear implants. Full-time position 8:30 – 4:30 Mon –Fri. Our mission is to teach deaf/hard-of-hearing children to listen, learn, and speak. PEI fosters spoken language skills to communicate.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Provide direct instruction including vocabulary, language development, play skills, art, music, circle, motor/social skills, and cognition.
• Prepare/submit weekly lesson plans; use New Mexico Early Learning Guidelines; comment regarding student progress
• Encourage development of independence/confidence
• Perform pupil supervision: lunch, recess, nap
• Maintain records/ provide written reports as required

Other Information/Requirements: 

Qualifications:
A degree in one of the following: Deaf Education, Early Childhood or Elementary Education. Experience or coursework in speech and hearing sciences or communication disorders is a plus, but not mandatory. Knowledge of sign language is a plus but not mandatory.
