Drop-In Center Coordinator

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Do you enjoy engaging with young people?
The Drop-In Center Coordinator will create and maintain a welcoming environment for youth aged 16-22. They must ensure all safety and cleanliness protocols are followed. Also must provide support, empowerment and assistance to young people in a culturally competent manner.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Cultivate a positive, inclusive and safe culture, alongside youth, within the drop-in center spaces.
• Develop, strengthen and maintain partnerships with individuals and organizations to provide a developmentally and culturally responsive program for young people.
• Assist with the recruitment of Peer-Support Specialists, Drop-in Center interns and VISTA volunteers.

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Coordinate outreach efforts with other New Day staff, young people, and partnering providers to identify hard-to-reach or underserved young people as well as develop strategies to improve access and support.
• Oversee operations of our “pop-up” drop-in sites, including all materials and supplies.

How to Apply: 

• Bachelor’s degree and 3 years' relevant work experience, or some college and 7 years of relevant work experience (child welfare, human services, juvenile justice, community organizing or youth engagement)
