Disaster Specialist

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The American Red Cross in Northwestern New Mexico is looking for a Disaster Specialist to work at least half time with the potential for full time. The Disaster Specialist works with the Regional Emergency Services Manager and volunteers to develop the capacity to respond to disasters in Northwestern New Mexico for the American Red Cross.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

The Disaster Specialist will be responsible for disaster planning, disaster response, volunteer development and management with a significant focus on tribal relations. The Disaster Specialist will also interface with local emergency management officials, first responders and non-governmental organizations.

Other Information/Requirements: 

The right candidate will have a proven track record of success with minimal supervision in their previous work experience. Strong oral/written communications skills, disaster response and/or volunteer management background required.
