Director - Quality of Life Initiative

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Initiative seeks to achieve community goals by building structures for and coalitions of community members and resource providers to create a more equitable and collaborative society that provides opportunities for all to lead good, fulfilling lives. The Director oversees and ensures the successful completion of all aspects of this work.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Develop short and long-term plans & goals for the Initiative. Work with the Initiative leaders and colleagues in Los Angeles to build an Empowerment Congress in Dona Ana County, New Mexico. Help assemble and work with numerous coalitions. Plan large scale events. Prepare internal and grant required programmatic & statistical reports. Coordinate Inititative's work, following the program budget. Assist in raising funds and supervising small staff and others.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Strong written, oral and organizations skills along with long-term planning, grant implementation, knowledge of southernwestern NewMexico, proven successful grant writing and report prepartion experience. Must have reliable transportation with insurance and able to travel within and out of the state. Minimum of a BA preferred. 40 hours/week including some nights and weekends. Salary range is $35,000 - $55,000 depending on experience. Fluent in Spanish and English a plus.
