Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Under the supervision of the VP of Public Affairs who is based in Denver, CO, the Director of Public Affairs (New Mexico) will develop, implement, and manage a statewide public policy plan; robust outreach strategy; and through the 501c4 organization, electoral program. The Director of Public Affairs will lead a team of 4-6 staff members, planning and coordinating strategic outreach and political efforts to advance legislative and electoral campaign objectives.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

The Director of Public Affairs will also be responsible for development and execution of public affairs events including legislative conferences, lobby days, fundraisers, and candidate workshops in New Mexico. The Director of Public Affairs will lead the Public Affairs team developing plans, defining targets, and identifying resources needed for the success of PPRM’s public policy agenda.

Other Information/Requirements: 

This position will oversee all Public Affairs staff and activists in the state of New Mexico, and will maintain responsibility for a medium sized outreach and public affairs budget of nearly $1 million. This position is fully responsible for the integration of racial equity and strong relationships with diverse coalition partners into all of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains’ (PPRM) Public Affairs work. The Public Affairs Manager is a full-time, salaried, exempt position.
