Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Provides professional medical physics services for a principal radiation research/clinical therapy unit of the UNM Medical Group and other radiotherapy satellite facilities. Under indirect supervision, responsible for implementing and monitoring a Quality Assurance Program to provide safe and accurate patient radiotherapy treatments. Responsible for meeting state and federal regulations and for following recommendations of the AAPM for medical physics practices.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Responsible for various other quality assurance practices needed to support the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center’s radiotherapy.

Other Information/Requirements: 

PhD degree in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics or an equivalent field or discipline. Board Certified as Medical Physicist (ABR, ABMP, or equivalent). Five years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Verification of education and licensure will be required if selected for hire.
