Director of Event Planning

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The ASRT is seeking a strong association executive for the role of Director of Event Planning. The Director will plan, organize, promote and oversee the logistics for all of the association's meetings and corporate travel activities. The individual will be responsible for managing the logistics of complex annual meetings, conferences, and committee and board meetings, along with special events for ASRT members and staff.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Ideal candidates will have a complete understanding of all aspects of planning meetings and expositions, including the ability to write and review contracts. Position requires professional work experience in project management, creative design and marketing knowledge along with a high level of member/volunteer interaction.

Other Information/Requirements: 

•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and exp. required
•Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) preferred
•Certified Association Executive (CAE) a plus
•5 yrs. of leadership exp. in growing, marketing, planning, and managing conferences
•High quality customer service orientation with both internal and external clients; actively assists others and exceed expectations.
•Exceptional project management skills, ability to meet deadlines, manage time well and perform duties independently
