Director of Development, UNM School of Medicine

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The UNM Foundation is actively recruiting for a Director of Development for the UNM School of Medicine. This is a newly created position within our five-person development team. The successful candidate will enjoys collaborating with a team of highly enthusiastic, successful and metrics-focused individuals.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

The successful applicant will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive development program in coordination with the leadership of the UNM School of Medicine, the UNM Foundation staff, and colleagues. The successful applicant will work closely with Executive Vice Dean of the School of Medicine, the VP for Development, staff, volunteers and friends to identify prospects, develop strategies leading to solicitation, and steward major donors.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Required Qualifications
• Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution required
• Five (5) or more years related experience in development/fundraising
• Experience in higher education or other non-profit organization
• Proven ability to close large private gifts.
• Travel and work with donors and volunteers throughout the country, including nights and weekends.

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 annually
