Director of Development, UNM School of Medicine

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The UNM Foundation is seeking a motivated, mission-driven professional for the position of Director of Development for the UNM School of Medicine.

The successful applicant will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive development program in coordination with the leadership of the UNM School of Medicine, the UNM Foundation staff, and colleagues.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

The successful applicant will work closely with the Executive Vice Dean of the School of Medicine, the VP for Development, staff, volunteers and friends to identify prospects, develop strategies leading to solicitation, and steward major donors. The primary focus of the position is to identify and cultivate prospects and solicit major and planned gifts benefiting the School of Medicine.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Required Qualifications
• Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution required
• Five (5) or more years related experience in development/fundraising
• Experience in higher education or other non-profit organization
• Proven ability to close large private gifts.
• 40% travel required
