Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The UNM Foundation seeks an experienced, results-oriented individual with successful annual and major gift experience for the position of Director of Development for the UNM Foundation Presidential Scholarship Program (PSP). This is an exceptional opportunity to provide strong leadership in designing and implementing a strategic program for annual support and to conduct major gift solicitations.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

The candidate works closely with the Office of Annual Giving staff, volunteers, and colleagues to identify prospects, develop strategies leading to solicitation, and steward major donors as defined by UNM Foundation in accordance with performance targets. The position vacancy is because of a retirement. It is anticipated that the new hire will overlap with current incumbent for smooth transition.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Required Qualifications
• Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution required
• Five (5) or more years related experience in development/fundraising
• Experience in higher education or other non-profit organization
• Proven ability to close large private gifts
• Some travel required
