Director of Development and Civic Engagement, New Mexico

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Fundraising: Research, Strategy, and Implementation

• Lead on comprehensive development strategy and work with New Mexico’s fundraising target each year

• Reach high levels of stewardship of New Mexico donors

• Lead targeted research efforts and develop creative strategies and relationship-building activities required to engage investors

• Steward primary local funder relationships and develop systems of appreciation and communication for each funder.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Civic Engagement: Recruitment and Partnership Management

• Collaborate with the regional and national staff to develop the New Mexico apprenticeship recruitment strategy according to goals

• Develop city-wide and state-wide partnerships with corporations, nonprofits and civic organizations interested in volunteering with Citizen Schools

• Implement new strategies to deepen relationships with corporations and groups that are pipelines of volunteers, building brand and sustainability

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Fundamental belief in the ability of all children to achieve excellence in school and in life on an absolute scale

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in fundraising, relationship management, or business development.The ideal candidate will possess a track record of client cultivation and sales.

• Ability to travel(region includes Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Mescalara)
