Director of Development

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Seeking a Director of Development to join our dynamic team and help take our fundraising and outreach to the next level. Primary functions are to identify, cultivate and solicit major gifts and annual contributions, execute special events and ensure donor stewardship. Responsible for strategic planning and executing development initiatives and fundraising activities in collaboration with the Board of Directors, CEO, Development Coordinator, and other organizational staff and volunteers.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of development experience including demonstrated nonprofit fundraising, major solicitation, donor stewardship, outreach and event planning. Experience with and/or awareness of the military population and culture is helpful. Must have a commitment to and excitement about our mission and vision.

Other Information/Requirements: 

As a leadership position within the organization, the ability to delegate and provide guidance while juggling multiple priorities is essential. Prior management experience preferred. Exceptional communication skills as well as computer literacy and familiarity with database and CRM management necessary. Must like people and dogs.
