Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Director of Development reports to the AIGC Executive Director and is responsible for planning, organizing and directing all of AIGC’s fundraising, including a major gifts program, annual fund, planned giving, special events and capital campaigns. The Director of Development will be responsible for cultivation and stewardship of tribal, corporate, foundation, individual donors and alumni.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

The Director of Development will serve as liaison between AIGC and national and regional American Indian organizations, creating communications strategies, products and services for development and donor relations. The Director will also serve as staff support and liaison on the Development Committee of the Board of Directors and report to the Board on development activities.

Other Information/Requirements: 

A strong candidate will have experience of ten or more years in development and marketing, with a successful track record of directing and securing significant gifts from a variety of private sources, including commitments of $1,000,000 or greater. A bachelor’s degree required and a master’s degree is preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge database is a plus.
