Director of Development

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Director of Development reports to the CEO, serves as a key leadership team member, and is an active participant in making strategic decisions affecting FFC’s resource development. The Director of Development is responsible for all fundraising and resource development activities. Responsibilities include achieving fundraising goals, cultivating and stewarding donors, sponsorship development, corporate fundraising, fundraising events, annual appeals, and major and planned giving.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Execute fully integrated development plans to identify, creatively engage, and solicit financial support for FFC
• Oversee the grant proposal process
• Coordinate fundraising activities and special events
• Manage the marketing, development messaging, and branding strategies for FFC including fundraising appeals, FFC’s publications, letters, press releases, and recognition of donors

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communication, Development, or related field plus a minimum 5 years work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, with a proven track record in major gifts
• Proven experience in building strong relationships with major donors, corporations, foundations and government entities that result in successful funding
• Persuasive writing and strong verbal communication
• Proficient in communication via social media
