Director of Development

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Director of Development will lead all aspects of the Foundation’s development program which supports The Albuquerque Museum of Art & History. And is responsible for the membership, major donor and annual giving programs of the Foundation. Director will develop and implement a comprehensive long-range plan for institutional advancement which develops cultivation and solicitation strategies, broadens the donor and membership base, and increases giving.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Create and implement annual development plan
Identify and cultivate major donors, membership, planned gifts and corporate partnerships
Grow donor and membership base
Produce gift solicitations and support materials
Assist in the creation of the Foundation + Museum Annual Report
Administer budget and resources allocated to development efforts
Staff the Foundation Development Committee and ArtEdge Committees

Other Information/Requirements: 

Desired skills:
Extensive knowledge of fundraising principles and ethics
Excellent research, writing and organization skills
Excellent at teamwork, strong management skills
Understand and articulate the mission, activities, services, programs of the Museum
Knowledge of the philanthropic community preferred
Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge
Minimum 5 years experience
