Director of Development

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Development Director is directly responsible for the execution of all fundraising programs that support current and future operating budgets. This includes: establishing fundraising goals and objectives for the program, developing marketing strategies, building upon relationships with existing donors and placing special emphasis on the cultivation of new donors. The Development Director will work on annual giving, planned giving, and special events.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

The Development Director will be responsible for developing appropriate marketing and promotional activities to support and broaden the program, making a substantial number of personal visits and solicitations with donors, prospects and key stakeholders of the organization.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Undergraduate degree in marketing or related field with 3+ years of proven success. Knowledge of development principles and ethics related to development activities. Outstanding written and verbal communication. Excellent public speaker. Ability to work with a variety of people including board members, volunteers, donors and clients. Ability to work independently and monitor own performance objectives. Knowledge of donor software programs, word processing, email and internet skills required.
