Director of Communications

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The UNM Foundation is seeking a Director of Communications to direct the Foundation's efforts with regard to communications , public relations, and marketing strategies. The Director of Communications will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategies consistent with UNM Foundation goals and priorities and in consultation with UNM Foundation leadership.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Many of the duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Designs and refines comprehensive marketing plans and programs, taking into consideration the Foundation’s image, message, and positioning, mission, goals, priorities and accomplishments.
• Provides strategic and effective counsel to Foundation leadership, staff, board members, and volunteers on marketing, communications and public relations activities.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Bachelor's degree; seven (7) years or more of full-time work experience in marketing, public relations, and communications; five (5) years more experience in management. Excellent in higher education or other non-profit organization preferred. Must be able to demonstrate experience managing web functions, developing and manage budgets; and have the ability to establish and maintain key relationships.
