Development Director, New Mexico Land Conservancy

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

• Plan, implement and evaluate fundraising efforts.
• Identify prospective donors.
• Conduct donor research, qualification and cultivation.
• Continuing building and expanding the major gifts program.
• Build and expand the planned giving program.
• Prepare grant proposals and other materials.
• Maintain and improve donor databases and systems.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Create an annual communications and outreach plan.
• Expand relationships with external constituents.
• Support organizational communications and information activities.
• Support the identification, cultivation and recruitment of Board candidates.
• Support the Executive Director and staff in active engagement of and with the Board.

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree (graduate degree preferred) in related field and at least three years relevant experience.
• Previous land trust or non-profit experience preferred.
• Familiarity with New Mexico and/or western states and communities is preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills.
