Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Director of Development is responsible for the planning, coordinating and implementation of all fundraising activities for Presbyterian Ear Institute, including major giving, annual giving, planned giving, grants, direct mail, special events and special projects. The Director of Development reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the Board of Directors and other volunteers.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Submits funding requests through grant writing.
• Plans and executes events.
• Develops strategies for and participates in gift solicitations.
• Plans and implements appropriate cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities with BOD.
• Creates donor letters, annual report, brochures, publications, news releases, media pieces and other fundraising materials.
• Manages donor database.

Other Information/Requirements: 

• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Five years of fundraising experience in all facets of resource development: direct mail; grant writing; special events and major gifts.
• Ability to understand a financial statement.
• Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed fundraising goals
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Ability to multi-task
• Team-player, enthusiastic, energetic and has a sense of humor
