Development Director

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Adaptive Sports Program is seeking a full-time Development Director with strong fundraising experience, including capital campaigns, planned giving, and the ability to develop and build relationships with key volunteers, major donors, and corporate sponsors. We seek candidates who can assure that the systems and procedures support the fund development on a local, regional, and national level while meeting the mission of the organization.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Plan and implement long- and short-range development initiatives in conjunction with strategic planning process
• Oversee annual fund and capital campaign, as well as planned giving program
• Secure major grants and gifts from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other private funding sources
• Write grant proposal and reports

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
• Minimum of 5 years fundraising experience with an established track record of proactively growing philanthropic revenue from diverse constituents including individuals, major donors, foundations, corporations, and other private donors
• Baseline certification in fundraising; the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) is preferred, but not necessary

Salary commensurate with experience; health insurance is available.
