Development Director

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Fund raising, grant writing, event planning & donor relations for local non-profit serving homeless individuals. Requires relevant degree + 3 yrs. Exp in fundraising, public relations, development and management of direct reports.
-Oversight of Development department; sourcing grant moneys, networking; ideas for grant proposals; Recruiting donors

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

-Newsletter production and distribution
-Develop and maintain positive relationships with media.
-Develop positive relationships with churches, civic groups, clubs.
-Develop and maintain positive relationships with community, county, state and federal officials, major contributors and key individuals.

Other Information/Requirements: 

-Appropriate Degree and 3 years experience in development, community relations or similar experience.

-Proven record of organizing large successful fundraising events

-Knowledge of fundraising strategies and concepts, development calendars and grant writing.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

-Strong written and spoke communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels; and in one on one or in group settings.

-Knowledge of the community strongly preferred
