Development Associate, Institutional Giving

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The School for Advanced Research (SAR) development division is hiring a development associate, institutional giving. This position provides support for the vice president for development in managing all aspects of the organization’s fundraising but focuses primarily on identifying, cultivating, and stewarding all corporate, foundation, and government grant relationships.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Conduct research to identify, manage, and maintain the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of corporate, foundation, and government supporters;
• Draft grant proposals in partnership with SAR team;
• Work cross-departmentally as needed to maintain data for compliance and reporting, prepare marketing materials, oversee events, and recognize donors.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum three years of experience in development or related field, or equivalent in experience; presentation and writing skills; Microsoft Office suite and Internet research; work well under multiple deadlines; strong interpersonal skills; team player; nonprofit and/or academic fund development department experience preferred.
