Development Associate

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Manage daily departmental operations and the paper and electronic files and archives; oversee the department's volunteers and interns; and assist in planning and executing the major gifts program. Organize and implement cultivation and stewardship events for prospects, members and donors throughout the year, as needed. Serve as project manager for the annual fundraiser and assist on other events as appropriate. Research new donor prospects and carry out strategies to expand the donor pool.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Assure the proper processing, recording and reporting of gifts and maintain accurate and current data files. Help develop a comprehensive fundraising plan that identifies specific fundraising goals, timelines. Track development goals and work plans to ensure they are accomplished. Supervise, train, and support interns and volunteers. Serve as a department liaison to national and local staff and contacts. Develop campaigns and mechanisms to stimulate giving among members and donors.
