Main Areas of Responsibility: 

New Mexico Legal Aid (NMLA) seeks a Deputy Director to oversee its statewide operations. The position, based in Albuquerque, will help lead NMLA’s advocacy efforts throughout the state. The ideal candidate will be responsible for internal program operations.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

The Deputy Director will oversee all aspect of program delivery statewide; help to develop statewide service delivery and staffing plans; execute statewide plans; understand the differences between remote rural and dense urban service delivery; supervise and mentor managing attorneys and practice group managers; assist in strategic planning and implementation; and assist to develop community outreach and education.

Other Information/Requirements: 

This role requires a minimum of five years' experience as licensed attorney (either in New Mexico or have eligibility to be admitted in New Mexico) and at least three years' experience in administrative and supervisory roles. The Deputy Director must be willing and able to travel and must be able to effectively use computer technology and remote communications systems.
