Main Areas of Responsibility:
The Culinary and Horticultural Specialist of Boulder Crest Retreat Arizona is responsible for the overall care and upkeep of the Lodge’s central Kitchen & Organic Garden. The position requires the Specialist to perform a variety of skilled tasks in food preparation, cooking, and presentation, to oversee maintenance subcontractors in the kitchen and garden areas and to keep the Lodge area in impeccable order. Requires supervision of outside volunteer personnel using the kitchen and garden areas.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
Monitor all food for quality of taste, texture, and appearance. Observe infection control practices and food safety at all times. Attend to problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies. Required to maintain the fruit and vegetable garden and incorporate those items into the meal planning.
