Counselor-Non-Residential: Bilingual

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Provide counseling and psycho-educational groups focusing on Domestic Violence issues. The Counselor for Esperanza is responsible for working under the Counseling Service Coordinator and with the Executive Director to provide a wide variety of counseling and educational services to a diverse population of clients needing assistance with domestic violence issues. Crisis interventions, conflict resolution and problem solving, individual sessions, group sessions with offenders and survivors.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Bachelors degree in Human Services related field or a combination of relevant education, training and experience totaling 4 years. Must be bilingual (English/Spanish) and have a working knowledge of bi-cultural and immigration issues. Ability to adhere to strict standards of confidentiality.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Must understand dynamics of domestic violence and work with both offenders and survivors of intimate partner violence. Understanding and sensitivity to issues of cultural and relational diversity.
