Contract Grant Writer/Development Assistant

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

We seek a professional to support the Executive Director in his fundraising work. In addition to identifying new funding opportunities through thorough research, the successful candidate will craft compelling, competitive grant applications to foundations, corporations, government agencies and individuals. The Grant Writer/Development Assistant will also assist staff with special fundraising campaign mailings.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Essential Functions and Skills:
• Identify new government, corporate, foundation and private funding prospects to match NMHC’s priorities, using research tools.
• Work with staff to generate proposals in response to solicitations.
• Maintain and implement funding calendar.
• Assist with special fundraising campaign mailings.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent presentation, writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.

Other Information/Requirements: 

• May require occasional travel as assigned.
• This is a work-from-home position.
• Pay based on experience.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Qualified candidates should possess excellent writing and computer skills (Microsoft Office Word, Access, PowerPoint and Excel), and database management skills.
• Proven track record of identifying resources for grantwriting purposes, along with two to three years of successful grantwriting experience.
