Community Support Navigator

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Community Support Navigator advances Paws and Stripes’ mission by providing a blend of community outreach, peer-based support, and front desk engagement that ensures Veterans feel welcomed, supported, and connected to services. This position is intentionally structured as a multi-function role that balances relationship building in the community, peer support for Veterans navigating services, and front desk coverage that supports daily operations.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Engaging underserved Veteran populations across New Mexico, including rural Veterans, LGBTQ+ individuals, BIPOC communities, Reservists, active-duty service members, those with other than honorable discharges, low-income Veterans, and Veterans experiencing suicidality. Under the SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program, this role supports suicide prevention education, facilitates warm handoffs, and contributes to culturally responsive outreach and engagement strategies.

Other Information/Requirements: 

This position is onsite and includes office responsibilities, regular community engagement, and periodic travel outside the Albuquerque metro area. Front desk responsibilities are a required component of the role but are not the primary function.
