Community Outreach Coordinator

Job Description
Type of Job: 
Part-Time
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

• Provide leadership in all areas of community outreach
• Develop and work within a project timeline
• Provide strategic day-to-day leadership to partner orgs
• Engage and mobilize key stakeholders
• Support in the development and implementation of outreach and engagement strategies
• Facilitate community conversations
• Represent NMAEYC in the community
• Synthesize notes and results from community outreach efforts

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

The preferred candidate will be fluent in English and Spanish:
• Understanding of early childhood workforce issues, including competencies, qualifications, pathways and compensation
• Experience in non-profit, advocacy or other community-based groups
• Flexibility, determination and good humor

Other Information/Requirements: 

“Power to the Profession” Community Outreach Coordinator.
• BA or BS in early childhood education or in related field
• Minimum 3 years experience working in public policy, communications, campaign management, nonprofit leadership, or a related field
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders
• Strong strategic and problem-solving skills
• Ability to respond to the needs of the organization and project
• Respect for the diversity and culture of various communities
