Community Organizer/Campaign Coordinator

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Media Literacy Project is seeking a part-time Community Organizer to coordinate all media justice campaigns. The primary function of this job is to manage all campaigns, supervise campaign staff and volunteers, and develop and strengthen MLP’s base and organizational partnerships.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Develop and manage all media justice campaigns, including Latinos for Internet Freedom and Mobile Justice
• Build MLP’s base and organizational partners
• Supervise campaign staff and volunteers
• Assemble and provide multimedia presentations and trainings on campaigns
• Maintain campaign and outreach reports as needed
• Submit campaign articles for website and monthly newsletter as needed

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Knowledge of how to run, implement, and evaluate effective community organizing campaigns
• Knowledge and understanding of racial and social justice frameworks
• Ability to lead and coordinate projects
• Ability to connect with a large range of constituents
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Excellent organizational, public speaking, and supervision skills
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
• Must have access to a vehicle
• Must have a valid driver’s license
