Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Vision for Dignity, Access, and Accountability in Healthcare (VIDA) is a project of Casa de Salud. We are currently seeking a full time Community Organizer to help reach our goals of improving access to healthcare for all Bernalillo County residents and to also engage clients in Civic Engagement opportunities.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

- Organizing and leading VIDA program meetings
- Developing and supervising a patient coalition
- Working with Executive Director, clinicians, and case manager to identify barriers to health in BernCo residents
- Developing community based campaigns to bring attention to and address these barriers
- Maintaining and expanding VIDA’s relationships with other organizations, community members, and policymakers

Other Information/Requirements: 

- Bilingual and Biliterate (Spanish/English)
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2 years or more of community organizing and/or health advocacy experience
- Advocacy, public speaking, and professional and technical writing experience
- Document translation (English to Spanish; Spanish to English)
- Intermediate to advanced computer/typing skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, email, Cloud-based systems)
