Community Lending Officer I

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Community Lending Officer (LO) will conduct targeted outreach to provide loan assistance, networking opportunities, and financial literacy training to Native entrepreneurs in New Mexico. The ideal candidate will already have established relationships with Native organizations, and will be well connected to the Native community. This position will require regular travel throughout the state of New Mexico.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Serve as an Accion ambassador in the community, cultivating relationships, building referral networks and resources and support for the clients we serve
• Lead clients through all stages of the lending process from origination to loan closing
• Develop referral relationships with community partners such as banks, local chambers and small business development centers
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of loan new loan applicants
• Structure and close loans based on monthly goals

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Passion for increasing economic opportunity and access to capital
• Experienced at building community and developing relationships
• Excellent execution skills for closing loans
• One to three years of professional experience and a bachelor’s degree are preferred
• This is a remote-based position and will require travel up to 75% of the time
