Community Events Manager

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Plans, schedules & executes events promoting adoptions for Animal Humane (AH) and the City Animal Welfare Department in support of agreed outcomes under the ASPCA Community Partner Program. Schedules AH’s adoption vehicle, for events. An outreach job focusing on “Hot Spot” communities including developing contacts and relationships within those neighborhoods to enable setting up and publicizing Health Fairs & adoption events that will attract participation by owners of Pit Bulls and Chihuahuas.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Minimum of an Associate’s degree in business, marketing, or communication or directly-related field is required. Undergraduate degree in a related field, such as communications, public relations, marketing or business is strongly preferred.
In lieu of a degree, consideration will be given to an appropriate and significant related experience in project coordination and/or community outreach experience.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Outstanding communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish; ability to work with diverse groups, individuals & organizations; ability to work independently and interdependently; strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines; word processing, e-mail and internet skills; flexible; strong public speaking/presentation skills; valid NM driver’s license, clean driving record; 40 hours per week, may include evening/weekend hours.
