Community Development Specialist - Events

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Essential Functions: This position is responsible for planning and organizing all events. The Community Development Specialist works closely with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) in developing an annual Marketing Calendar understanding identified target audiences.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

1. Initiates and researches ideas for potential events.
2. Organizes internal/external teams in planning successful events.
3. Responsible for preparation of events, site coordination and post-event evaluation.
4. Researches and collaborates with CDO to determine annual marketing activities.
5. Adheres to marketing, communication and development plan tasks as assigned for fundraising, event planning, activities and online marketing venues.
6. Other duties as assigned.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Education/Experience Required:
1. Bachelor’s degree, OR
2. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in event planning and marketing, development, community engagement, donor development/relations, or similar field.
3. Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop beneficial.
