Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Guide organizational communications via social media, website, and public relations to consistently articulate the mission and work of Animal Protection of New Mexico and Animal Protection Voters. Communications Manager will build and sustain APNM/APV’s brand and reputation for quality, reliability, and relevance in New Mexico’s communities.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Lead communications strategic planning, develop program and fundraising media solutions, assure consistency of messaging, generate all digital media (e-blasts, social, web, videos), manage media/press relationships and generate press releases, represent APNM/APV in print media, radio and TV interviews, research communications efficacy using analytical tools and report to management.

Other Information/Requirements: 

5-years exp. in non-profit communications; college degree req., creative problem solving, excellent interpersonal skills and customer service, self-motivated, persuasive and professional writing skills, excellent verbal communication, flexibility, technically savvy (MS apps, social media, Meltwater, Salsa, Smartsheet, analytical tools), highly organized, familiarity with NM preferred, familiarity with animal welfare movement strongly preferred.
