Communications Manager

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

To bring about systemic change for animals in New Mexico by guiding organizational communications via social and other digital media, website and public relations to consistently articulate the mission and work of Animal Protection of New Mexico and Animal Protection Voters. The Communications Manager will build and sustain the APNM/APV brand and reputation for quality, reliability and relevance in New Mexico communuties.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Contribute to APNM and APV Board development by helping to identify individuals for potential board members and board committee members, based on needs identified
• Support and attend all APNM and APV meetings, events, parties, fundraisers, as needed
• Support APNM and APV membership development as opportunities arise
• Recognize and identify to Executive Director organizational growth opportunities

Other Information/Requirements: 

College degree req’d; 5 yrs exp in non-profit communications work; excellent ppl skills; works effectively with internal and external clients; problem solver, learner attitude; excellent persuasive written and verbal skills; excellent computer skills incl MS suite & communications/media platforms; flexible; responds to change effectively; strong bkgd knowledge in animal welfare movement req’d; familiarity with NM preferred; self-motivated; organized; can manage multiple projects simultaneously.
