Co-Director, Advocacy & Development

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

• Organizational development as a progressive political leader in New Mexico and the Southwest
• State and local political organizing, education, and advocacy (policy, elections, candidates)
• Fund development, including membership, major donors, grants, board-led fundraising, and events
• Local coalitions and campaigns lead (both EQNM- and partner-led)
• National coalitions and partnerships lead
• EQNM (c4) Board of Directors staff

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Be an ambassador of EQNM and its efforts to develop LGBTQ political power and leadership
• Understand that relationship building is central to donor development, and that engagement leads to investment
• Enjoy the fervor of legislative session, lobbying elected officials, and testifying in public hearings
• Build bridges and naturally seek opportunities to work in partnership
• Own your role, respect the roles of others, and put the interests of the organization and community above self-promotion

EQNM —the state’s leading LGBTQ advocacy organization—has announced a new model for the organization’s leadership. EQNM will implement a new leadership model, which will incorporate two new positions—Co-Director, Advocacy & Development and Co-Director, Programs & Outreach.
