Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Chief executive level position who manages multiple critical programs including the animal cruelty hotline, the Companion Animal Rescue Effort (services for the animals of domestic violence victims), humane education programs, statewide spay/neuter services, local and state animal ordinance reform efforts, animal shelter support efforts, and animal control officer training.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Provides strategic planning across all these areas and works to provide support for other agencies and nonprofits. Experience working with local, state, and/or federal government employees to plan, implement, and assess policies and programs; Experience in researching and pursuing program funding from private and other sources.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Travel Requirements: Only occasional/intermittent travel is required to locations throughout New Mexico.
Minimum Physical Requirements: No special requirements
Education/Experience Requirements:
• Experience working with local, state, and/or federal government employees to plan, implement, and assess policies and programs
• Experience in researching and pursuing program funding from private and other sources
• College degree preferred, but extensive relevant experience is an adequate substitution
