Chief Financial Officer

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

• Develops and maintains financial management policies and procedures that align with the Foundation’s mission.
• Prepares monthly and quarterly financial statements and financial analysis.
• Oversees the preparation of the annual operating and capital budgets for NMCF.
• Coordinates the investment functions of NMCF.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Supervises the Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Gift Processing functions. Manages the finance department staff and is responsible for training and continuing education of staff.
• Manages NMCF’s employee benefits programs.
• Participates in the oversight and planning for NMCF’s information systems.
• Handles risk-management for the Foundation.
• Oversees the annual audit and IRS 990 tax return process for the Foundation.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master's degree (in accounting or business).
Five years or more of nonprofit accounting experience.
Five years or more in Director/Management level accounting experience.
Experience with Blackbaud financial systems.
Extensive experience and advanced knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office software.
Certified Public Accountant preferred.
