Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Casa Q is currently recruiting an AmeriCorps VISTA member to join a statewide VISTA team that works together to end homelessness in New Mexico. VISTAs serve a full-time, year-long commitment beginning November 2015.

VISTA members will be required to attend an AmeriCorps* VISTA Volunteer training before their year of service begins, and out of state travel may be required. Travel expenses will be covered by the AmeriCorps* VISTA program.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Casa Q VISTA member service roles:
• Promote and raise awareness of the mission and need for Casa Q
• Create and help manage fundraising events
• Identify and author small grants and requests for funding
• Develop a donor database and donor communication
• Manage Casa Q’s volunteer program, recruit and retain volunteers
• Leverage skills based volunteers to meet Casa Q’s needs
• Work with an outstanding team to serve LGBTQ homeless youth!

Other Information/Requirements: 

Casa Q is recruiting for one VISTA member age 21 or older. Members receive a modest living allowance of $973 per month and support with childcare if needed. Other benefits include student loan forbearance or deference and a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award or post-service stipend. Casa Q VISTA members must pass a Child, Youth and Families Department background check. A vehicle is not required.
