Audit Specialist

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

DreamSpring is looking for an Audit Specialist. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the Controller, the Audit Specialist will perform testing of compliance and internal auditing functions across the organization, and ensure compliance with donor and creditor agreement terms, covenants, governance requirements, and internal policies and procedures.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Tests a variety of accounting, financial, and operational records, policies, and procedures.
• Monitors and reports on federal and private grant compliance.
• Prepares compliance report on a monthly basis.
• Monitors existing policies for compliance and reports.
• Report quarterly on the effectiveness of policies, procedures and internal controls.

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Experience with internal controls evaluation and compliance testing.
• Experience with private and government contracts and grants preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field plus three years of experience in auditing and/or internal auditing/compliance monitoring preferred.
• Knowledge of lending operations or nonprofit organizations preferred.
