Assistant Shelter Director

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Assistant Homeless Shelter Director needed to work in partnership with Director. Shelter is open from 7am-6pm. Assistant hours are 10am-6pm and will be responsible for managing staff, kitchen operations for noon and evening meals and services in the afternoon. Also responsible for Project Blue Box - a program that provides food boxes for up to 4 schools in the downtown area on Fridays so we have no hungry kiddos.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Management of staff
Ability to supervise and support security staff
Ensure safe environment for clients and staff
Paperwork/reports as needed
Project Blue Box volunteer oversight

Other Information/Requirements: 

Experience managing staff. This cannot be a 1st time manager.
Experience working in a homeless shelter or working with severely mentally ill or homeless population.
Ability to treat all clients and staff with respect.
Up to $35,000 annual salary, excellent benefits (85% paid health and detnal; 21 PTO days; 11 floating holidays)
