AmeriCorps Urban Conservation Crew Member (ages 18-25)

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Join an AmeriCorps crew working on conservation projects throughout the Middle Rio Grande region of New Mexico. Crews will work to safely complete trail maintenance, scientific monitoring and community improvement projects on public lands. All Corps members will receive both personal and professional development training in topics such as First Aid/CPR, financial management and public speaking skills.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Additional projects may include historic preservation, disaster relief or watershed restoration work.
This is an AmeriCorps National Service position and Corps members will receive a living allowance of $760 every two weeks throughout the season, as well as an education award of $2,255 upon successful completion of the term of service. This award can be used to pay tuition at most colleges, universities or trade schools, or to pay off student loans already acquired.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Corps members must be 18-25 years of age on the starting date of enrollment. Positions are available for two possible shift schedules: in-town day work (Tue-Fri, and every other Monday 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m); and hybrid crews that alternate between day schedule and overnight backcountry camping projects (8 days in the field, followed by 6 days off.)
