Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Earth Care AmeriCorps Program is an 11-month professional development program for early-career professionals that provides FT positions and training for the next generation of food and public health advocates, urban farmers, educators, and non-profit leaders. Earth Care's mission is to educate and empower young people to create healthy, just and sustainable communities.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Members placed in schools teach Earth Care’s environmental education program, develop school gardens, teach kids about food, nutrition, and cooking, and organize environmental service-learning projects in K-12 classrooms. Members placed with community organizations support local agriculture through farmer’s markets, food policy, land and water conservation, and community development through the City of Santa Fe.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Deadline: 7/8/12. These are FT AmeriCorps positions from 9/4/12-7/31/13. To participate in the program,individuals must be between the ages of 18-35, have a high school diploma or GED, be a legal resident of the U.S., and be committed to making a difference. Spanish language skills required for some positions. Members receive a Living Stipend (FT $12,100) during their service and an educational stipend upon completion of service($5,500)
