American Dream Initiative Business Management Intern (unpaid)

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

• Administrative support
• Marketing and research in business community
• Cultivating and meeting with potential community partners
• Research assistance
• Provide support to social media efforts
• Follow up duties after weekly client meetings
• Facilitate business plan design, business networking, micro lending, and entrepreneurial mentoring
• Submit weekly reports to supervisor

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

PB&J Family Services is seeking an Intern/Work Study with extensive knowledge and experience in business to work on a pilot project to serve 10-15 business start ups.
The American Dream Initiative is an economic development initiative hosted by PB&J Family Services in collaboration with several other nonprofits, micro lenders and local business mentors. This is an unpaid internship. College credit can be given.

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well with diverse groups of people
The American Dream Initiative is designed to move formerly at-risk mothers and fathers, who once relied on state and federal subsidies, to become self-sufficient leaders who can give back as future employers, tax payers, mentors to other American Dream recipients, and philanthropic donors to the program’s IDA loan fund.
